Each of our tax preparers and quality reviewers earns an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Certification and provides at least 4 hours of service each week during the tax season.

The 4-hour-a-week commitment is a standard set by the Boston Tax Help Coalition for more than 30 tax assistance sites across Eastern Massachusetts.

A weekly commitment ensures that our volunteers prepare returns within the scope of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and meet the standard of other tax assistance sites in the area.

Every volunteer participating in our program must sign an IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct Agreement. This agreement requires us to provide high-quality service and uphold ethical standards.
